Hi all,
Bit slow off the mark. I’ve had Sylvia for nearly two years now and she’s a work in progress, fine tuning to suit my old lady riding style! She’s the standard green with a not standard brown seat. Slowly putting her back to her more upright style after the last owner converted her to a cafe racer. Only new to riding so she’s good for a first bike. Learning every day!
Photo is what she looked like when she came to me. I’ve gone for more upright bars, blasted and repaired the leaking tank (need to put the pin striping back on), removed the multitude of fuel filters, built a new clutch cable after the old one snapped, and refitted the little travel tool kit box.
I still need to figure out how to make her a bit quieter as there is leaking at the muffler end of the header pipes, plus there’s no heat shield. Leg gets quite hot! Looks like the pipes are not stock, or so Yamaha say so I can’t find a carbon crush gasket, plus there’s no clamps to hold things in place. But I see lots with the single muffler dual header system so maybe they were for Australian imports. On the lookout for a heat shield, but for the meantime I’m wrapping the pipes and puttying up the exhaust joins.
Happy travels!

Hi All,

I have just purchased a 1994 Yamaha SRV in Sydney and looking forward into giving it a little TLC. Currently the fuel tank is off and being restored, giving me time to give it a deep clean, adjust the carby, reset valve clearances etc.
Seems this forum might be a little quiet at the moment but it would be great if it were to pick up again!

Cheers,

Hey guys and gals,

Thought we should have a place to introduce ourselves and show off our rides.
Say as much as you want and post a pictures if you'd like.

As for me, I'm an American living in Japan. I've been here for a long time and made it my home. Got my bike license here and bought my first ride through Yahoo Auctions - a shiny red SRV250.

Great first bike and I fell in love right away. I've since added a 250 Ninja to the shed and am in the very long process of bobbing out my SRV. It's a learn-as-I-go project and has taken twice as long as I expected, more than likely with months to go.

Anyway, I hope this forum can help some folks out and allow us all to enjoy these fantastic V-twins even more.

Can't find a pic on this computer right now, but I'm pretty sure I already uploaded one in the general discussions forums.

Hi from Perth Western Oz. Middle aged motorbike fan. Currently ride a 2015 Triumph Tiger 800XCx which sees a lot of dirt.
I have just bought (rescued) a lovely 1994 SRV Classic.
Metalic green (forgot the real colour name, I'll have to look it up) 17,000km and never modified, which is why l say rescued.
The paintwork on the tank and side covers is in fantastic condition for a 23yr old bike, just a couple of chips to touch up on the tank.
The frame is ok but will be getting stripped and repainted the exact same green.
When this happens it will be off to the chrome factory for all shiny bits and the engune externals will get a good clean and polish.
It may get some flatter bars and if l can get my hands on another original seat l will have it re-shaped.
I refuse to cut, chop or hack any part of the bike to make it look like a hipsters wet dream.
Original is best.
That's the good news.
The bad news is its on the other side of the country in a family's shed and l won't be having it shipped here until next year, February at the earliest.
So hello to all 22 of you, I'm #23.
I'll work on getting a pic up, same as my avatar.

Anyone here from Osaka?
