Here are a couple vids on Youtube by a guy that did a rebuild.  This is kind of the penultimate Renaissa, if you ask me.

I love this hand painted tank/bodywork repair.

My project will be posted here for this no doubt multi-year rebuild.

I'll start with a basic to do list:

To Do
Low down kit
Low down shocks → Chrome G-Suspension265 14-14
Wider rear tire
Cruiser type seat
Exhaust – Straight pipes
Which header pipe? Does it have to be original?
Pod air filter (48mm)
Jet kit (2.2?)
Handlebars → Hurricane Flat Type 1 Chrome with Black Waffle Grips and Black Aluminum Bullet Bar Ends
Mirrors
Shock Sleeves → Kijima SR400/500 Front Fork Boots
Adapted rear fender
Side license bracket
Smaller LED signals – relocated
Smaller HiD headlight
Smaller single RPM gauge w/ digital speedometer (Do they exist?) → ACEWELL ACE-2802 Digital Speed/Tachometer
Box for the electricals

Tools I need to get
Torque wrench
Cradle to rest the bike on (I just used some bricks & 2x4's then I bough some engine stands)
Fine grit sand paper
Primer
Bondo
Masking tape
Paint

Here's a vid to let you hear the SRV without the exhaust.  This vid is thanks to Tim Hull from the SRV250 Facebook group.

Post your discussions of Jetting and Carburetor work here.

Try to be as detailed as possible for anybody looking for help or trying to help you.
by Chief_Mechanic at 11-22-2014, 10:22 PM
Note: This thread is for jetting specs only; jetting discussion can continue in the Jetting Discussion Thread.

The purpose of this thread is to consolidate the information from people who have done any type of work to their carburetor jetting to improve the bike's ride-ability. Your contributions are what will make this a valuable tool for anyone looking to rejet their bike in the future.

Benefits of rejetting...

With rejetting, it is possible to extract more power out of the little 250 motor. You can tinker with the jetting to extract more power, though be advised gas mileage will be affected. What I like is that rejetting increases the amount of power available in the lower rpms ranges and in doing so makes the bike much easier to ride and much more rider friendly… two things that greatly benefit someone new to riding a motorcycle.

So, on to the purpose of this thread... In brief, please cut and paste the area at the bottom of this post into your reply to help start building a jetting database in the SRV250 forum. As much as possible, please stay on topic so the information will be easily accessible by those searching for jetting help in the future. You are more than welcome to come back and post new jetting specs in the future in another post if you should redo your jetting. Please comment on any improvements rejetting did for you if you do repost. (Don't forget that jetting discussions are to be held in the Jetting Discussions forum.)

I started this website because I love the V-Twin 250, on this little bike.  However, as unique and adaptable as this bike is, I have not been able to find any single source of good information on it.  I hope SRV250Forums will be a good place for people to work together on finding the full potential of these bikes in countries where they are rare as well as in places where they are more easily found.

It's only been up for a few days, but hopefully we'll get some more traffic on it soon. It certainly can't be any slower than it is already.  Although I am new to moderating a forum, I will do my best to keep this an interesting, low-stress place to get some info on the Net.

And here is a picture of the SRV250 I want to model mine after.  I like the Bobber look and think it fits this bike perfectly.  I'll have a post in the tech forums on my bobber project as I go through it.

Here's a copy of the English Service Manual for the SRV250G (I believe 1994 model)
It's been around the web for a while and isn't a very good scan, but it is the only service manual that I've found so far.

Well, here's the first post in these forums.  This is Red, my SRV250 4DN.
I bought it for ¥90,000 yen off of Yahoo auctions as my first bike.
I then put new fork tubes on the front and have done a little work on the engine (replaced the intake pipes on the carbs, new plugs & plug wires) plus a new chain, battery and new tires.  I've also put a new (used) seat on it that I got for a great price at another auction.
